Chris Hamel
Chris Hamel has been working for nearly 20 years in the hydroelectric industry with Ontario Power Generation (OPG). Throughout that time, he has held numerous positions in the organization starting with station engineering, where he was responsible for risk assessments, Plant Condition Assessments, Production Engineering support, unit turbine upgrades and refurbishments across all hydroelectric stations on the St. Lawrence, Ottawa, and Madawaska rivers.
In his current role, he is responsible for the maintenance of two hydroelectric stations of approximately 200MW, specifically the planning and execution of the preventative and corrective maintenance programs associated with operating a hydroelectric power plant.
Chris resides in Ottawa, Ontario with his wife and two children. He is a proud hockey dad.
